I did landscaping, call center work, dishwashing at restaurants, and so on." Hwang Jung-eum said, "I've never done a part-time job. In the third year of middle school I went out to Sincheon with friends and was cast, and I've been acting since. There was a brief gap after Sugar came out, but my face was already well known so it wasn't easy to do part-time work."
Hwang Jung-eum added about working hard, "I did it because I had to make a living. After switching to acting, it became my livelihood."
