Actor Billy Baldwin said he will never work again with Sharon Stone, whom he co-starred with in the 1993 film "Sliver." He claimed there was severe tension between the two on set and that he even refused to kiss Sharon Stone before filming the final bed scene.
According to U.S. entertainment outlet Page Six on the 8th (local time), Billy Baldwin appeared on the newly released Lisa Gerrero Unleashed podcast and revealed behind-the-scenes stories about his relationship with Sharon Stone during the filming of Sliver.
He said that during the first few weeks of filming he got along relatively well with Sharon Stone, but that for about three months afterward she did not even greet him. Billy Baldwin said, "There was tension on set and everyone had a hard time," describing the atmosphere at the time.
He said that in the end he told production he could not film the fourth love scene left in the movie. But since he could not refuse the scene itself, he said he asked, "I can do the scene, but please don't make me kiss her. I can't kiss her."
He explained that the result was a scene in which Zeke Hawkins, played by Billy Baldwin, and Carly Norris, played by Sharon Stone, lean against a pillar and make love. He said he had never told this story to anyone until now and added, "This story could become a topic of conversation."
In the interview, Billy Baldwin also spoke about Sharon Stone's 2021 memoir The Beauty of Living Twice and remarks she made during its subsequent promotion.
Earlier, Sharon Stone claimed in her memoir that Sliver producer Robert Evans pressured her to sleep with Baldwin to improve his performance. Billy Baldwin countered that he, too, heard similar things from Robert Evans at the time.
He emphasized that Robert Evans did not question Sharon Stone's acting ability, praising her as "11 out of 11 on screen." He said the producer told them there was "an incredibly bad tension" between them and meant for them to relieve the sexual tension that had built up.
Baldwin also claimed that Sharon Stone called him "stupid" and disparaged his acting on Larry King Live when the film was released. He expressed discomfort that she brought up his acting again 30 years after the film's release.
While continuing his revelations about Sharon Stone, Baldwin did not completely close the door on reconciliation. He said he wanted to "bury the hatchet" and hinted that he hoped to someday shake hands with or hug Sharon Stone.
The two later encountered each other by chance at airports and auto shows, but never had a direct conversation. Sharon Stone's side did not immediately comment on Billy Baldwin's remarks.
Meanwhile, in 2024, when Sharon Stone's comments about Sliver resurfaced, Billy Baldwin warned that he had "many dirty stories" he could reveal, but at the time he did not follow up with specific disclosures.
