"Resurrection Man: The Red" is a film that tells the story of Seok-hwan, a job seeker whose baseless confidence is his only credential, who learns that after he dies he has the ability to resurrect within 72 hours and then becomes the target of a mysterious chase.
The newly released "red-flavor chemistry" character video centers on Seok-hwan, who transforms from an ordinary job seeker into a resurrection power user who grows stronger each time he dies, and captures the relationships among characters with different charms — Black (Shin Seung-ho), who pursues him; his only friend Young-ha (Kang Ki-young); and his dependable younger sister Ye-rin (Kim Si-a) — drawing attention.
Seok-hwan, who had difficulty even getting over the threshold of employment, realizes his special ability to die and come back to life, and as he dies repeatedly his hair color turns red and he gradually exerts increasingly powerful strength, to the point where a single punch can send an opponent flying. Into this, the mysterious figure Black begins to chase Seok-hwan with a relaxed attitude and an unpredictable demeanor, creating taut tension and foreshadowing a spicy pursuit chemistry.
Young-ha, the only friend who bluntly delivers hard facts to Seok-hwan, learns about Seok-hwan's resurrection ability and, while helping him, becomes entangled in a perilous incident that injects cheerful energy into the drama. In particular, during a car-chase pursuit, Young-ha, who had insisted on safe driving because he was driving a company car, runs wild when the car is damaged and Seok-hwan restrains him — a scene that will offer audiences special amusement through humor that cuts into a tense situation.
Seok-hwan's dependable younger sister Ye-rin completes the sibling chemistry by constantly clashing with her brother while worrying about and helping him more than anyone else in moments of crisis. Above all, the two people's appearances — conducting a harsh mock interview full of sharp remarks and bickering over the amount of water put into ramen — evoke real-life siblings and are expected to convey a pleasant sense of empathy to audiences. Having released a character video that captures a variety of synergies, "Resurrection Man: The Red" is expected to captivate theaters this fall with the lively performances of its distinctive characters.
Meanwhile, "Resurrection Man" is set to open next week during the Chuseok season this month, and amid a flood of Korean films it is drawing attention as the only action movie.
