Actor Ji Ye-eun and dancer Vata were caught by the SNL crew on a late-night date.
On Dec. 7, SBS LoveFM's Yoomin-sang's hungry radio featured Jeong I-rang and Kim Gyuwon, who were active as SNL Korea crew members, talking.
Recently, Ji Ye-eun and Vata announced their wedding on Dec. 12 after eight months of public dating, drawing attention. In particular, the two had worked together through SNL Korea, which led to speculation that they may have known about the marriage beforehand.
In response, Jeong I-rang said, "I already knew. I knew for quite some time," and added, "Both of them are very pure people."
Jeong I-rang said that in the past she once went to play badminton with her family and witnessed Ji Ye-eun and Vata on a date. She said, "My family went to the park to play badminton, and a good-looking man and woman were playing badminton healthily without drinking. It turned out to be Ji Ye-eun and her future husband."
Jeong I-rang added that even though it was late at the time, seeing the two together made her suspect their relationship and "I recognized them from that time."
Kim Gyuwon also said he already knew about the couple's romance. Kim Gyuwon said, "She's a senior I really like, and I'm close with and like Vata hyung, so I knew they were dating nicely."
However, he said he heard the wedding news only after it was reported in the articles. Kim Gyuwon said, "I learned they were getting married on the day the article came out through our group chat. In the SNL Korea group chat, we said, 'They're really doing it. Congratulations.' I cleared my schedule for the wedding day."
Meanwhile, Ji Ye-eun and Vata, both born in 1994, are known to have grown closer through shared interests and religion, and they will hold their wedding on Dec. 12, five months after going public. The date is also meaningful because it is Vata's birthday.
The agency said, "The two promised to share their lives together based on deep faith. We ask for warm congratulations and support for the couple as they embark on this new beginning."
