With Hollywood actor Bruce Willis (71) continuing to battle dementia, his wife, former model Emma Heming Willis, candidly shared the difficulties of caregiving and her honest feelings toward their daughters.
According to foreign media reports on the 8th (local time), Emma Heming Willis recently told Hello! magazine in an interview about the daily guilt she feels while caring for her husband Bruce Willis, who has aphasia resulting from a 2023 diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), and about the family's tender daily life.
Emma Heming confessed, "As a caregiving partner, it is virtually impossible not to feel guilt when navigating a situation like this," adding, "I fight guilt every day, but I try not to waste time and energy trapped in that feeling."
She notably said she does not show only a perfect motherly image to their two daughters, Mabel Ray (14) and Evelyn Penn (12). Emma Heming said, "The girls have seen me strong, but they have also seen me collapse to the floor," and added, "In this situation that we are experiencing for the first time, the children know well that I am doing my best."
She continued, "The situation is devastatingly difficult, but the girls are learning what true loyalty, devotion and unconditional love are by watching the family and friends who form a protective circle around their father," emphasizing the meaning of family bonds even during hard times.
Earlier, it was reported that Bruce Willis moved to a separate home near his primary residence for 24-hour professional care. Emma Heming and the two girls visit frequently, sharing breakfast and dinner and spending time together, and ex-wife Demi Moore and his three daughters (Rumer, Scout, Tallulah) are also providing strong support.
