The following is the full notice from Starship Entertainment
Hello. This is Starship Entertainment.
We continuously monitor and take legal action against acts that infringe on artists' rights, such as spreading false information online and on social media, defamation, insults, sexual harassment, malicious slander, and the production•distribution of false video materials targeting our artists.
Regarding this matter, among the cases we have been handling through our legal representative Kim & Chang law office, a defendant indicted for crimes such as spreading false video materials targeting our artist was recently given a prison sentence by the court.
We responded firmly during the investigation and trial of the case, and we will hold legal responsibility to the end under a principle of zero tolerance for serious infringements of the rights of our artists.
In addition, we have completed evidence collection against posts and authors who have repeatedly posted malicious content targeting our artist Jang Wonyoung, including certain YouTube channels and so-called 'cyber wreckas,' and we filed additional complaints today against those who have spread false information or continued malicious slander across various online communities and social media.
This legal action covers acts such as repeatedly posting•distributing false content related to Jang Wonyoung, distorting parts of recorded videos or adding content that differs from the facts to spread falsehoods about the artist's character and attitude, and continuing malicious slander and personal attacks.
In particular, even after objective facts have been confirmed, we continue to collect related materials on acts that repeatedly post•repost identical or similar false content or that arbitrarily edit•distort certain scenes of videos to spread false information.
We will continue monitoring not only the original writers of malicious posts and content but also the accounts and channels that repeatedly post•distribute them, and we will take the necessary civil·criminal measures.
Even if anonymous or pseudonymous accounts or overseas platforms are used, we will proceed with the necessary legal procedures regardless of domestic or foreign platforms to identify the authors and distributors and hold them accountable to the end.
Going forward, we will continue active legal action to protect our artists' rights so that our artists can work in a safe environment.<
