Actor Elliot Page, who became male after gender-confirmation surgery, said he still has not received casting offers after The Odyssey.
In a recent interview on the podcast On Film...With Kevin McCarthy, Elliot Page spoke about his next projects after appearing in director Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey.
Elliot Page previously worked with director Christopher Nolan on the film Inception, and in The Odyssey he played Sinon, a cousin of Odysseus, delivering a brief but powerful presence. He played a fierce Greek warrior and received praise for his strong performance.
Kevin McCarthy asked Page whether he knew what role he would take next, saying, I imagine you're getting lots of calls after The Odyssey. But Page frankly replied, That's not the case. If someone wants to call me... I really want to do something good. That's what I want to do.
Page said he is considering being more proactive about reaching out to film producers himself, adding, I used to present myself in a certain way, and now it's different.
Page also spoke about working with director Nolan. He said, I had a really good time appearing in Inception. Working with Nolan was really enjoyable, but personally it was really uncomfortable, adding, By contrast, in roles like Juno I felt more at ease and more fully in my body.
He said reuniting with Nolan on The Odyssey was a cathartic experience and that the last day of filming felt like everything had come full circle back to where it started.
Page added that he feels more comfortable as an actor than ever, saying, I feel like I might be able to do some of my best work right now.
Elliot Page drew attention when he revealed he underwent gender-confirmation surgery in December 2020. He also changed his name from Ellen Page after the surgery.
