Singer Lee Sang Soon has effectively halted activities due to decreased vagus nerve function, and the radio show "Perfect Haru" will have Thomas Cook as DJ for the time being.
On the 7th, MBC said, "Singer Thomas Cook will serve as the special DJ of MBC FM4U 'Perfect Haru Lee Sang Soon' for the time being and will host the broadcast," in an official statement.
A day earlier, "Many of you may be worried about Lee Sang Soon DJ's absence, but Sang Soon DJ is taking a break from broadcasting to focus on recovering his condition. He is taking ample rest and calmly looking after his condition, so you do not need to worry too much. It will take a little more time, but he will recover well and greet you again on the air soon. Thank you to everyone waiting for and worrying about Sang Soon DJ," the statement said.
Earlier, Lee Sang Soon showed unstable behavior such as being late or absent from his DJ duties on 'Perfect Haru' starting from the 26th of last month. From Aug. 27 his consecutive absences lengthened, and except for a one-day return on the 29th, he was absent through Sept. 5. With the main DJ missing for nearly 10 days, various speculations including health problems poured in.
Ultimately, on the 6th Lee Sang Soon posted a long message on SNS revealing his condition.
He said, "Many of you have been worried because I have not been able to host the radio for several days. I apologize to listeners for taking a break from radio without any explanation," and added, "Last Wednesday I suddenly felt unwell and was unable to host the radio, and since then I have undergone various tests and consultations. Although we are still awaiting a few more detailed tests, medical staff advised that rest is necessary due to a neurological symptom called 'decreased vagus nerve function,' so I have had to take a break from radio and rest."
Lee Sang Soon also said, "I will use this opportunity to thoroughly check my overall physical condition and fully recover my condition so I can return to you in good health," adding, "Please don't worry too much. I will rest and recover, so please wait a little. See you soon in good condition."
