'The Assassin(s)' Yoo Hai Jin mentioned that it is "time to let go" regarding the 10 million ticket seller "The King's Warden."
On the afternoon of the 8th at Megabox COEX in Seoul, a press screening for the film 'The Assassin(s)' was held. Director Heo Jin-ho and leading actors Yoo Hai Jin, Park Hae-il and Lee Minho attended.
The film 'The Assassin(s)' (director Heo Jin-ho, produced by Hive media corp, distributed by Hive media corp) depicts the investigation into the suspicions and the backers behind the first lady shooting incident on Aug. 15, 1974, which shocked Korea.
Taking inspiration from a historic event that shook Korea, the film expands the incident's background through cinematic imagination, adding tight tension and deep emotional textures to complete a high-density mystery pursuit. It was officially invited to the gala section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, receiving recognition for its artistic merit, and offers intense immersion and a lasting aftertaste.
Yoo Hai Jin plays Cheol-gu, a detective who witnessed the first lady shooting, Park Hae-il plays Jae-hwan, a Dongseong Daily reporter and Director General of the social affairs desk, and Lee Minho plays Young-il, a rookie Dongseong Daily reporter pursuing the truth of the case.
Yoo Hai Jin again became a 10 million ticket actor earlier this year with "The King's Warden," and he is presenting his next work seven months later.
He said, "This year is very special to me and I am so grateful that so many people liked and loved 'The King's Warden.'"
He continued, "Then another holiday came and our film 'The Assassin(s)' is releasing, and although 'The King's Warden' is a work I cherish, it seems the time has come to let it go," adding, "When a work reaches this point it becomes a living thing in theaters, and I hope that (The Assassin(s)) also lives on healthily like 'The King's Warden.' I wish it to come out into a harsh world and live well and healthily," he said, expressing his hope.
Meanwhile, 'The Assassin(s)' opens on the 23rd.
