Solo artist Evan (EVAN) announced a spectacular leap by sweeping the top spots on domestic and international album and digital charts with his first mini album.
On the 8th, according to album sales tracking site Hanteo Chart, Evan's first mini album 'DEATH OF ME', released on the 7th, sold a total of 461,488 copies on its first day alone, landing at No. 1 on the daily album chart (Sept. 7).
The firepower on digital charts was also intense. The title track of the same name, "Death of Me," shot to No. 1 on Bugs' real-time chart at 8 p.m. on the 7th, immediately after its release. It also entered Melon's Hot 100 (within 30 days of release) at No. 5, and the inclusion of the other tracks created a lineup of hits that proved a powerful presence.
This mini album topped iTunes' 'Top Albums' chart in 10 countries/regions including Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand and Türkiye, and landed on the charts in a total of 28 countries/regions. The title track "Death of Me" also reached No. 1 on iTunes' 'Top Songs' chart in seven countries/regions, shaking the global digital music market.
The new release 'DEATH OF ME' is the album Evan released about two months after the digital single 'RIDE OR DIE' released in June. It contains a firm will to move forward beyond tangled emotions, and includes eight tracks in total, including the weighty pop R&B title track. In particular, Evan led the producing across the album, adding a deeper musical authenticity.
Meanwhile, on the day of release (the 7th), Evan held the EVAN 1st Mini Album 'DEATH OF ME' Debut Showcase at Kyung Hee University Peace Hall in Seoul and shared a meaningful time with his official fandom, Ever (EVER). The venue was filled with attendees, and viewers from 191 countries/regions around the world joined online, making it a huge success.
That day, Evan showcased a wide-ranging performance with diverse tracks including the title track "Death of Me" as well as "Twilight," "Not Enough," "Immature," and "Going Home." Responding to fans' encore requests, he performed the title track once more and heated up the venue.
After the performance, Evan said, "I'm relieved and happy to release an album I prepared for a long time and to meet Ever in person," and added, "There are many sides I will show you, so please look forward to it. I will work hard and perform the mini album activities stylishly and well."
Having swept both album and digital charts and announced a strong start, Evan will begin full-scale music show activities starting with M Countdown on the 10th.
