Pop artist Nancy Lang acknowledged the facts related to drunk driving but denied being booked by the police.
On Aug. 8 Nancy Lang told OSEN, "I drank one or two glasses of champagne at an acquaintance's birthday gathering yesterday and, since I lived nearby, I took the wheel. It was a careless judgment," acknowledging the drunk-driving incident.
That day the Seoul Gangnam Police Station said it had booked Nancy Lang on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act. According to the police, Nancy Lang was driving under the influence around 3:45 a.m. that day in the Gangnam-daero area when officers who responded to a report detained her.
At the time, Nancy Lang's blood alcohol concentration was reported to be at a level warranting license cancellation. However, there were no reported injuries or property damage caused by the drunk driving.
In response, Nancy Lang told OSEN, "I was not taken to the police station after being arrested and booked this morning at dawn, nor was I transported to or booked at the police station. With the help of an acquaintance, I returned home safely," denying the reports.
Meanwhile, the police plan to summon Nancy Lang to determine the exact time she began drinking and the specific route she drove.
