Singer Lee Sun-hee and broadcaster Lee Keum-hee combined their talents to mark the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day.
The International Korean Language Education Foundation on the 8th distributed a music video for the theme song "You and I, all together" for students in Korean classes within public education overseas to mark the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day in 2026.
This project was carried out through the collaboration of two artists, Lee Sun-hee and Lee Keum-hee, who have led Korean language education. This song features the musical expression of the unique rhythm and varied expressions of the Korean language in its lyrics and melody.
Lee Sun-hee, a representative South Korean singer known for her vocal ability and expressiveness, directly composed and performed the vocal parts to musically convey the rhythmic sense of Hangul letters and native Korean words. In addition, announcer Lee Keum-hee, who has practiced polished language use through decades of broadcasting, wrote the lyrics, explaining the principles of Hangul letter creation and a message of globalization in easy-to-understand words.
The music video was directed by writer Seo In-ji, who worked on music videos for global DJ Peggy Gou, and choreographer AIKI participated in creating choreography that produces moves easy for overseas students to follow.
The song will be used as student educational material in classrooms of Korean language classes at elementary and secondary schools and in Korean schools around the world through cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
A representative said, "The pro bono participation of Lee Sun-hee and Lee Keum-hee, who have established their positions in music and broadcasting, is expected to increase the friendliness of Korean language education for overseas youth and serve as an opportunity to develop our culture into sustainable educational content."
