The four-member band Bobby Pins, loved for its witty lyrics and powerful live performances, breaks a three-year hiatus to release a new song.
Bobby Pins today (8) at noon will release their new digital single "Run" across various online music sites. This new song is their first official recording in about three years since Aug. 2023 and was completed with production support from the Chungnam Content Promotion Agency's Chungnam Music Creation Center.
In particular, this single is a meaningful work marking the band's return to the starting line after vocalist Lee Seung-yoon's period of rest due to military service. Lee Seung-yoon enlisted in Oct. 2023 and was discharged in Apr. 2025, and the band has been focusing on strengthening their foundation through live performances.
The new song "Run" originated from real running experiences of leader and drummer Im Il-gyu. Im Il-gyu expressed in music his thoughts on "what meaning running gives to life" while running. In particular, the chant melody that bursts out in the latter part of the song began as a tune he heard in a dream and was completed through collaboration with the members.
The song unfolds on the basis of intense guitar riffs, double-time drum beats and dazzling basslines. Added to this is a refreshing brass sound that erupts through collaboration with Ruby Record, showcasing an expanded musical spectrum unique to Bobby Pins.
Lyrics were written by Im Il-gyu; composition was by Bobby Pins; and arrangements were contributed by Bobby Pins and Lee Myung-jae and Lee Gyu-young of Ruby Record. "Run" contains a warm message of encouragement to everyone running their own races in their respective lives, beyond simple running.
Bobby Pins said "With this single release, we have stood at the starting line of our second Race," adding "We will run our Race in style. We hope this song becomes your running mate."
Along with the music release, Bobby Pins will unveil a music video and will perform the first live stage of the new song "Run" on Oct. 3 at the 20th anniversary Lets Rock Festival.
