'Mom has gone crazy' Kim Hee-jeong and Kang Kyung-hun face off as two mothers who have lived lives at opposite extremes.
The new KBS 1TV daily drama Mom has gone crazy, which premieres on the 28th (directed by Sungjunhae, written by Na Seung-hyun), depicts a turbulent family coming-of-age story that unfolds as a mother who sacrificed herself for her family her whole life, a mother who lived solely for herself, and the children of the two mothers who are like enemies become entangled.
The second teaser video released today (the 7th) contained the contrasting lives of Jo Mi-mi (played by Kim Hee-jeong), who lived only looking at her family, and Jeon Jin-hee (played by Kang Kyung-hun), who chose a life for herself, arousing curiosity.
First, Jo Mi-mi is shown looking flustered after hearing the news that her eldest son Kang Kang-nam (played by Kang Eun Tak) and his wife moved out. Next, Kang Da-mi (played by Jung Min-a), who is surprised after hearing an unexpected story from someone, and Kang Dae-chi (played by Kim Jong-hoon), who sits down in despair at work, appear in succession, suggesting that something unusual is happening to the three siblings.
Here, Jo Mi-mi lamenting, "I at least helped you live, didn't I? What did I do wrong?" adds to the poignancy. In particular, a scene in which she walks alone down the road and sheds tears conveys the long-accumulated sorrow and emptiness of a mother who sacrificed herself for her family over many years.
By contrast, Jeon Jin-hee shows a completely different life from Jo Mi-mi as the socially successful head of Golden Apparel. She expresses affection while looking at Cha Do-yoon (played by Bae Ji-wan) in a suit, saying, "Isn't he so handsome, my son? He's a top groom material," and even the return of Cha Seung-yoon (played by Dong-ha) to Korea after a long time is spotted, drawing attention.
In particular, Jeon Jin-hee's confident stride through a department store highlights her image as a successful career woman. Attention is focused on how Jeon Jin-hee, who has lived centered on her desires and choices her whole life, will become entangled with her family and what conflicts she will create.
Also appearing are strong-character figures such as Hwang Geum-sun (played by Kim Young-ok), founder of Hwanggeum Capital; Choi Sun-deok (played by Yang Hee-kyung), the head of "Mimi's samgyetang"; and Cha In-seong (played by Nam Sung-jin), Jeon Jin-hee's affectionate husband. In addition, Park Ji-young (played by Jo Mi-ryung), who grabs her husband Kang Hak-seong (played by Lee Han-wi) by the collar and pours out her resentment, appears, raising anticipation for the stories of families each bearing different backgrounds.
