IDID has solidified its position as a next-generation global rookie by winning consecutive awards at major K-pop ceremonies in its debut year.
Starship Entertainment's boy group IDID (Jang Yonghoon, Kim Minjae, Park Wonbin, Chu Yuchan, Park Seonghyun, Baek Junhyuk, Jeong Semin) won the "Next Generation Award" at the 2026 SPOTV K-POP AWARDS held June 6 at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
That day IDID not only won an award but also raised the venue's energy with a variety of performances. In the opening stage they covered SEVENTEEN's "Ankinda," showcasing fresh youthful charm and playful charisma. Dressed in rugby-player fashion, the members performed the song's characteristic skit and synchronized choreography, capturing attention from the start. In a dance performance staged with other K-pop rookies, IDID also revealed its unique character.
After receiving the "Next Generation Award," they performed a celebration stage with "FLY!" Wearing uniforms that evoked pilot outfits, IDID changed the mood instantly with a powerful intro dance. After displaying powerful charm with precise movements and sharp synchronized choreography, they elevated the stage atmosphere with "FLY!" and sustained the performance's heat by including a performance break.
Particularly notable was how they varied styling and performance to match each concept, showing wide interpretive ability. Presenting the youthful "Ankinda" stage and the intense, charismatic "FLY!" stage in succession, they imprinted IDID's distinct color.
Acceptance remarks were filled with gratitude toward fans. Leader Jang Yonghoon said, "I am grateful just to have been invited to the SPOTV K-pop Awards, and it is an honor to receive such a meaningful award," and added, "We will show stages full of IDID's charm and fun, so please give us your support. We will work to become a great IDID."
Kim Minjae expressed thanks on behalf of the fandom WITHID, which supports IDID, and together with the members shouted, "WITHID, we love you," offering fans a special greeting.
IDID's upward momentum does not end with this award. Alongside this year's album activities, they won the rookie award at the 35th Seoul Music Awards and then took home the "K World Dream Global Spotlight Award" at the 2026 K World Dream Awards. With the SPOTV K-pop Awards' Next Generation Award added to those honors, they have collected trophies at major K-pop ceremonies, growing their presence as a new group.
IDID's appeal continues offstage as well. Content released on official channels has been generating new interest as it spreads by word of mouth among fandom WITHID and internet users. In particular, a real "selcam" behind-the-scenes video showing everything from enjoying a mukbang at a rest stop ahead of the congratulatory stage for the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships to backstage scenes was released and became a hot topic.
Internet users who saw the content reacted with comments such as "I've been waiting so eagerly" and "I want to see the unedited cut," expressing interest in IDID's natural daily life and variety show talent.
IDID, which is expanding its activities toward global stages including Korea and Japan, is attracting attention for what growth trajectory it will show using the award streak it has achieved in its debut year as a springboard.
Meanwhile, IDID, which emerged as a next-generation rookie by winning the "Next Generation Award," is scheduled to meet global fans at the Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2026) at National Stadium in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on Dec. 5 and 6.
