Actor Baek Jin-hee surprised fans by announcing she married a working professional living in Canada, and her life in Canada, which she had revealed through vlogs, is being reexamined.
Baek Jin-hee released two Canada travel vlogs on her YouTube channel '지니이즈백' last July.
In the vlog Baek Jin-hee said, "I am in Toronto, Canada. Today I'm going to check out a Toronto grocery store. Just walking and it looks like a picture," as she revealed her life in Toronto.
In the first vlog, Baek Jin-hee went on a Canada grocery store tour. Baek Jin-hee said, "I heard Canada has about four kinds of grocery stores. Actually, when I went to the U.S. the apples weren't tasty so I thought they might not be here either, but surprisingly the fruits were delicious," as she looked around the store. She greeted seeing Korean food with pleasure and introduced various Canadian grocery foods and dishes.
Also, Baek Jin-hee visited Canada during the North and Central America World Cup period and cheered in person. Wearing the Korean national team uniform in front of the camera, Baek Jin-hee said, "There is a place where people gather to cheer like Gwanghwamun because there is a Korea vs. Mexico match. I tried on the uniform for the first time to go there," and went to cheer with someone. After that, Baek Jin-hee leisurely enjoyed life in Canada, such as taking walks in the park.
Next, Baek Jin-hee released the second Canada vlog. Baek Jin-hee said, "It's weekend in Toronto so I called a very, very small number of my acquaintances and we're going to try one of Toronto's three best steak restaurants. I stopped by downtown near city hall, and because it's the World Cup period there are a lot of people," as she captured herself enjoying daily life with an acquaintance, eating one of Canada's three best steaks and drinking coffee.
In particular, her visiting a steak restaurant with two men she introduced as acquaintances drew significant attention. Baek Jin-hee asked one of the men, "Do you have to make a reservation to be able to come?" and expressed satisfaction, calling it "a very delicious dinner."
Baek Jin-hee studied at the library and enjoyed time alone at Harbour Square Park, saying, "There really is no separate heaven," she explained. She added that the library held memories from when she attended a language school last year.
Baek Jin-hee's Canada vlogs have drawn attention along with the marriage announcement. Because Baek Jin-hee met her fiance in Canada, reactions followed that the vlogs might have captured moments with her partner before the marriage announcement.
A representative of Baek Jin-hee's agency Management AM9 told OSEN on the 7th, "It is true that Baek Jin-hee will get married on Jan. 23 next year. The groom-to-be is a working professional living in Canada." Baek Jin-hee is reported to plan to split her newlywed life between Canada and Seoul after the wedding.
