The lead actors of the new film series Tazza show a new charm on variety shows.
Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub (director Choi Guk-hee, distributed by CJ ENM, produced by Sidus) unveils its own variety content 'The Genius', where acting geniuses meet poker geniuses.
The new film Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub will present its own variety content 'The Genius' on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. and Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. on CJ ENM's YouTube channel. Using the film's premise, Byun Yo-Han, Roh Jae Won, Hong Jin-ho, Rad Pak and PaniBottle will participate to deliver tightly woven fun.
Hong Jin-ho, a former StarCraft pro gamer who rose to the top of domestic poker tournaments with total prize money reaching 3.1 billion won, has reached the pinnacle in both esports and poker. He made a cameo in Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub but will reveal on the content a special behind-the-scenes story about being entirely edited out. Rad Pak, a professional poker player who has proven his skills on the international stage, served as on-site consultant for this project to refine the actors' card acting. Joining them is YouTuber PaniBottle, who has the gift of turning games around with his banter.
Before the matches, the show also unfolds film behind-the-scenes stories. The two actors talk about what they experienced while preparing their characters and the impressions they received from each other on set. Also, Byun Yo-Han and Roh Jae Won, who play as their characters do in the film, add thrilling fun. In episode 1, as a warm-up game they will compete in Indian poker, attaching cards to their foreheads, and in episode 2 they will hold a Texas Hold'em match with a time limit, like the hold'em in the film. With a penalty for last place and a Chuseok gift for first place, the five will deceive and probe each other in a merciless contest. It promises tightly woven fun of deception and counterdeception that seems to transfer the intense thrill of the film's matches to variety show form.
The final entry in the Tazza series, Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub, is a crime film in which Jang Tae-young (Byun Yo-Han), who thought he owned the world through an online casino business, and his close friend with the same name, Park Tae-young (Roh Jae Won), who stole everything from him, meet again on a global gambling stage and engage in a final showdown of revenge. The last installment of Heo Yeong's original comic series, Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub, opens on Sept. 23.
The film features Byun Yo-Han and Roh Jae Won, as well as Jo Woo-jin, Yoon Kyung-ho, Moon ji-hoon (Swings), and Japanese actor Miyoshi Ayaka. It is a new film presented seven years after Tazza: One Eyed Jack (2019), and its universe is completely different.
