Former baseball player-turned-broadcaster Yang Jun-hyuk's wife, Park Hyun-sun, clarified public misunderstandings.
On the 6th episode of KBS 2TV's Boss in the Mirror, Yang Jun-hyuk met with Yongsan investor Kim Hoon to get confirmation on a new café menu.
That day Park Hyun-sun asked about the location of a café situated in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, and Kim Hoon said, "Location-wise it's really bad. I looked it up and the location is too remote." Yang Jun-hyuk said, "Our location isn't great, but my fans also visit a lot, and because of the region's characteristics you could call it a tourist area," and defended her.
Hearing this, Park Hyun-sun said, "Actually, I ended up running the café because I came to attend the opening ceremony and couldn't go home. People keep misunderstanding. They think I wanted to run the café so much that my husband set it up for me."
She added, "That's not it — it was already set up, so I'm the one who is managing it. I've been doing that for a year now."
Yang Jun-hyuk also said, "What's amazing about my wife is she planned to do it with one manager and this friend, but the manager said on the first day they couldn't do it. Since then she's been stuck doing it. She originally planned to attend the opening and then leave."
He added, "There's also a second café location. She has to go back and forth. She has the skills," and Park Hyun-sun explained the reason she came to seek Kim Hoon's advice: "As I kept doing it, I developed ambition and felt sorry for my husband. I can't just abandon it."
Watching this, Jun Hyun-moo said, "You must have saved the country in a past life," and Yang Jun-hyuk elaborated, "I've wanted to run a café since long ago," receiving teasing on set.
