Eom Ki-joon met his Japanese fans for the first time in 11 years.
On the 4th, Eom Ki-joon held a fan meeting in Tokyo, Japan called "BEHIND THE CURTAIN" and spent a special time with about 400 local fans. It was their first meeting in 11 years since he held a Japan fan meeting in 2015 to commemorate his 20th anniversary, and it took place over two sessions amid enthusiastic excitement.
Amid the warm cheers of Japanese fans he met after a long time, Eom Ki-joon responded warmly with a sweet live performance and a bright smile. Especially fitting the title "BEHIND THE CURTAIN," he captivated fans by revealing not only actor Eom Ki-joon on stage but also behind-the-scenes stories of the person Eom Ki-joon hidden behind the curtain and his small daily life.
First, through the "What's in my phone" segment, Eom Ki-joon generously revealed photos from his phone and communicated closely with fans. Then in the first session he took on an acting challenge, and in the second session he tried an emoji challenge, showcasing everything from his serious side as an actor to his delightful charm. Along with this, he enjoyed traditional Korean and Japanese games together, filling the venue with laughter.
In particular, actor Kim Beom-rae, known to be a close friend of Eom Ki-joon, appeared as a guest at the second session, completing an even richer stage. The two, who have worked together in the musicals Jack the Ripper, Dracula and Sugar, displayed perfect back-and-forth banter at this fan meeting as well, continuing an entertaining talk. In a telepathy drawing quiz they drew laughs with their exceptional rapport.
Not only that, the two sang together the number "I am Jack" from the musical Jack the Ripper, eliciting enthusiastic responses from the audience. The stage, which combined the two actors' solid vocal abilities and deep sensitivity, instantly captivated the venue and became a special gift for fans.
Keeping an honest rapport with fans until the end of the fan meeting, Eom Ki-joon said, "I am grateful that you all enjoyed this together and created good memories with me," adding, "I am happy to have made happy memories after more than a decade. I will return soon." After finishing with a group photo, Eom Ki-joon concluded the event, leaving a deep impression on fans who met him again after a long wait.
Meanwhile, after spending a meaningful time with his Japanese fans, Eom Ki-joon will continue performances of the musical The Days in Incheon, Gwangju and Busan starting in October. He is scheduled to meet audiences with the original musical Majesty from Oct. 25 to Nov. 15.
