Broadcaster Lee Kyung-sil's daughter Son Su-a recalled the time she spent apart from her mother for about 10 years since childhood and opened up about her feelings.
On the 7th, a video titled "Went for healing but became a day worker: Yangpyeong rural staycation" was released on the YouTube channel "Our mom Lee Kyung-sil."
That day Son Su-a prepared a Yangpyeong rural staycation for her busy mother Lee Kyung-sil. The two matched couple outfits and headed to Yangpyeong, embarking on a rare relaxed mother-daughter trip.
The two had been busy recently with a theater performance. After arriving at their accommodation they shared a meal and drank coffee, spending intimate time together, and their mother-daughter conversation continued late into the night.
In the process Son Su-a revealed her true feelings about her relationship with her mother. She said, "Actually, the time I was apart from my mother was from when I was in fifth grade of elementary school until my second year of university. Almost 10 years." She also said the long period of not being able to be with her mother seems to have had a considerable impact on her. Son Su-a candidly confessed, "I think I consider that period to be quite critical for me."
That is why the time they can spend together now feels even more precious. She said, "As I grow up and before I get older, being able to spend that kind of time with my mother, and wanting to act more cute and be more affectionate, I think I felt that more and more while doing the performance."
This trip was arranged with that feeling in mind. Son Su-a intended to give her tired mother a proper rest, but she ended up taking on everything from fetching meal ingredients to helping with cooking, setting the timer and taking care of the trash, becoming a "day worker" and drawing laughs. Nonetheless, Son Su-a expressed satisfaction, saying the time spent alone with her mother in a quiet place will be a lasting memory.
