Bruce Campbell, an actor in the film "Evil Dead," confessed that he has been given a five-year terminal prognosis.
Battling cancer, Bruce Campbell recently appeared on the Adam Carolla Show and said, "I have been given five years. I am a dying person."
He said, "I have a five-year prognosis. There is a type of cancer I have, and the current situation is a five-year one," adding that he will not let himself live in fear and conveyed that he is maintaining a positive mindset during his cancer battle.
Campbell said, "It's really interesting what happens in the sense that the cancer reaches into your head. But I have very specifically decided to live with the cancer. I am not going to die because of cancer."
Campbell, who is an actor and film producer, also took on a new film, "Ernie & Emma," while fighting cancer. The work is an independent comedy drama that he wrote, produced, directed and starred in.
Campbell also emphasized that his prognosis will not slow down his film work. He said, "I am continuing to move forward. There is a film I need to promote. Mentally I am completely free and have no burden," saying he will not let his cancer battle stop him from living his life.
Campbell said, "Cancer creeps me out because of the ancillary things it causes. I am not dying from the cancer itself. I am dying from what the cancer does to you."
Campbell earlier announced that he was diagnosed in March with an "incurable" cancer. Campbell is known for playing Ash Williams in Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" series.
