'You Quiz on the Block' producers mourned the late writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol.
On the 6th, tvN's You Quiz on the Block posted on its official social media, "Writer Jeon Gyeong-cheol, who dreamed until the end that people with developmental disabilities would live in a better world."
It went on to mourn, "We were grateful to be able to convey the writer's wish on You Quiz. We will long remember the heart you left behind. We offer our deepest condolences to the deceased."
That day, the representative of the Developmental Disability Support Experts Forum posted on social media, "On Sept. 5, 2026, at 7:56 p.m., Jeon Gyeong-cheol, Peter Pan's father, departed on a long journey. The funeral will be held without a mourning hall according to his usual wishes," delivering the sad news.
The late Jeon Gyeong-cheol, who wrote "Goodbye, Peter Pan," raised his severely autistic 27-year-old son Je-won, who has the mental age of a 2-year-old, alone for more than 20 years. While caring for his autistic son and his mother, who suffered from dementia and a cerebral infarction, he was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and fought the disease.
Although he had about six months to live without treatment, Jeon Gyeong-cheol refused treatment to find a place for his son to live and spent more than a year searching for his son's home.
The late Jeon Gyeong-cheol appeared on tvN's You Quiz on the Block on the 12th of last month and said he had found a home for his son, but less than a month later the sad news was reported and mourning has followed.
