Broadcaster Lee Young-ja revealed her exceptional love for crops by personally restoring a vegetable garden ruined by the autumn monsoon.
On the 6th, a video titled "Lee Young-ja's fresh(?) September table made by shaking out the front yard instead of going to the mart" was released on Lee Young-ja's YouTube channel.
That day Lee Young-ja inspected the front-yard garden that had been ruined after the autumn monsoon passed. While checking crops that had fallen everywhere, she found broken corn and could not hide her sorrow, saying, "Wow, these are all broken. The corn is all broken. This is a big problem." She sighed while looking at the garden, saying, "It's become a mess of weeds." But Lee Young-ja immediately rolled up her sleeves and began tidying the garden, fixing the disordered spots one by one until it regained its shape.
She also shared candid thoughts about vegetables she grew herself. When asked whether homegrown crops are especially different for health, she smiled and said, "I don't really know about that," but said the affection and sense of accomplishment that come from growing them with her own hands are unique. Lee Young-ja cheerfully expressed her fondness even for oddly shaped produce, saying, "Even if everyone thinks it's ugly, my parents call me a princess, as if it's pretty. It seems like that," regarding produce that isn't perfectly shaped as precious.
Later she added octopus to cucumbers and pumpkins harvested directly from the garden to make fried rice. From tending to harvest to cooking by hand, Lee Young-ja, who did everything herself, expressed satisfaction as she completed a table full of seasonal ingredients.<
