Son Tae-young and Kwon Sang-woo revealed a strict parenting method even during their 11-year-old second daughter's puberty.
On the 6th, the Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young channel uploaded a video titled "How Son Tae-young♥Kwon Sang-woo celebrate a birthday (+family date vlog)".
Heading out with Kwon Sang-woo, Son Tae-young said, "My daughter played at home for two months straight, so we finally sent her to academy; she goes once a week for a one-hour class. Today is the day of her third lesson. She said she would go herself so we tried sending her, and she did fine twice," adding, "But just a little while ago I got a call 30 minutes after the class started. 'Mom, I think I'm going to throw up, my head hurts so much,' she said and asked me to come pick her up. I said, 'What are you talking about? It's because you use your phone too much.' (She was fine at home) There were no signs beforehand. I said, 'No, enough, hang up,' and hung up."
Kwon Sang-woo said, "She was at home and then she called me right away. 'Dad, I think I'm going to throw up, I'm so dizzy,' she said. But her voice sounded perfectly fine. I asked, 'Why did you call me instead of your mother?' and she said she had called her mother but she was 'done,' so I said, 'Then I'm done too,' and hung up," he laughed.
Their daughter, Riho, didn't call after that. Kwon Sang-woo recalled the situation: "Before going to the academy I told her to come downstairs at 4:45, but at 4:50 she still hadn't come down, and at 4:52 she was shouting that she had no clothes," and Son Tae-young sighed at the same time, saying, "Why wouldn't she have clothes? She's just starting puberty."
Kwon Sang-woo said, "Everything sounds like malingering," and Son Tae-young said, "If she's upset or has indigestion she can be in pain, but we are always strict. She can endure that much, and when she comes down we can give her medicine," adding, "It's so funny. She has so many excuses. Anyway, I'll check on her when she comes down later."
Their second daughter returned from the academy and got into the car, and she did not answer when asked, "Did you do well in class?" Son Tae-young, trying to hold back her anger, said, "You should answer~," and Kwon Sang-woo asked, "What happened to feeling like you were going to throw up? Are you okay?" The daughter replied, "No, I'm really annoyed, stop talk to me," and Kwon Sang-woo hit the nail on the head, saying, "So it wasn't dizziness but annoyance."
Meanwhile, Son Tae-young married fellow actor Kwon Sang-woo in 2008, and the following year they welcomed their first son, Luk-hee, and in 2015 their second daughter, Riho. Son Tae-young has lived in New Jersey, U.S., since 2019 for her children's education, and their eldest son is preparing for college entrance exams this year.
