The cheerful comments from members on the social media account of Lovelyz member Yoo Jiae, who announced her marriage to actor Kwak Si-yang, are drawing attention.
Yoo Jiae posted a handwritten letter on her social account on the 3rd and shared her feelings about the marriage. Earlier that day, Yoo Jiae and Kwak Si-yang's agencies released official statements formalizing the couple's marriage.
Kwak Si-yang, born in 1987, and Yoo Jiae, born in 1993, are six years apart, and they became acquainted naturally while frequenting the same hair salon. They grew closer by cheering for professional baseball team Doosan Bears, and after dating for about a year they will become a married couple with a wedding on Nov. 28.
However, the agency said regarding the wedding date, "The wedding will be held privately with both families, relatives and close acquaintances in attendance," and added, "We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to disclose specific details out of respect for both families' wishes," and declined to say more.
Through a handwritten letter, Yoo Jiae announced, "I think many of you were very surprised by the news shared today. I have found someone who cherishes and relies on each other and wants to spend the future together, and with good intentions we promised a new beginning!"
She said, "Looking back, it seems I spent a really long time sharing many moments with you. Whether in happy times or in times when I was tired and struggling, you were always by my side supporting me, and thanks to that heart I think I was able to keep walking in my place until now. So you must have been very surprised by this news, but I would be so happy if you warmly celebrated my new beginning with good intentions!! Following Yoo Jiae's surprise marriage announcement, Lovelyz members also flooded her with congratulatory comments. Seo Jisoo left a comment saying, "Be happy forever!", Lee Mi-joo wrote, "Congratulations congratulations chuu~~!!!", and Kei (Kim Jiyeon) expressed congratulations saying, "Unni, congratulations so much."
In particular, a comment full of wistfulness that read, "You said you'd marry me… I loved you, Yoo Jiae.." drew attention on the post. The person who left that comment was Lovelyz's youngest member Jung Ye-in. Because they were close within the group, she showed her disappointment.
