Former Miss Korea runner-up Park Hee-sun encountered a bizarre beauty practice that once swept the era and spoke out with conviction.
On the 6th (Sun) at 8:35 a.m., the 59th episode of SBS knowledge and health variety show Three perspectives will dig into the secrets of youth and healthy skin care revealed by cells within the skin with MC Kim Seok-hoon, So Seul-ji, science writer Kwak Jae-sik, docent Lee Ji-an, dermatologist Kang Min-jung, and special guest Park Hee-sun.
The broadcast will unfold various stories about skin aging, wrinkles and pigmentation that anyone has likely fretted over once in front of a mirror. MC Kim Seok-hoon elicited empathy from the cast by saying, "Compared with the past, my face seems to have sagged," realizing the effects of skin aging.
In particular, docent Lee Ji-an introduced the "secret of youth" of villagers in an Austrian town who once boasted unusually youthful and vibrant complexions, leaving the set in shock. It was revealed that the special substance people then consumed to make their skin clean and look younger was actually a bizarre beauty practice that harmed the body.
Hearing this, guest Park Hee-sun, visibly shocked, said, "No matter how much someone wants to become prettier, it is hard to imagine choosing a dangerous method." Park Hee-sun, a former Miss Korea runner-up who maintains her unchanged beauty, is expected to voice her convictions about the overlooked dangers of such beauty practices and draw viewers' sympathy.
Alongside this, dermatologist Kang Min-jung presented the skin's fundamental "cell" as the key to restoring skin beauty without harming health. She viewed wrinkles not simply as signs of age but as signals sent by aging cells, and she shared methods for managing healthy cells and skin regeneration, which are the core of visible beauty.
