Actor Kwon Hyuk-soo passed the Korean history proficiency test with a high score.
On the 4th, Choi Tae-seong wrote on his social media, "'Bare Korean history' season 3 is starting again. Celebrity Kwon Hyuk-soo, who joins us on a history journey. After Jang Ye-won, Jonathan, and Kim Dong-hyun, our actor Kwon Hyuk-soo also passed the Korean history proficiency test. And he scored 98 on the basic level, wow," announcing Kwon Hyuk-soo's passing of the Korean history proficiency test.
Kwon Hyuk-soo told Choi Tae-seong, "It has been almost a year since I first greeted you, teacher. In what can be a long or short year, there has been a big change for me. I was not a model student who was good at studying, so a new start felt vague. But with the courage you gave me I took the first step, and because you taught me gladly and earnestly I was able to run vigorously."
He added, "This was possible because you embraced a student who hesitated to take on challenges after turning 40. I will study harder and surely repay you. I will use this as an opportunity to be a student who does not fear studying Korean history or other new challenges and who grows," and wrote "'4th level student Hyuk-soo'."
Encouraged by Choi Tae-seong, Kwon Hyuk-soo passed level 4 of the Korean history proficiency test with a high score of 98. Choi Tae-seong said, "When we first met he had no base," and added, "I will keep cheering for you."
Kwon Hyuk-soo's passing of the Korean history proficiency test is particularly meaningful as issues related to historical awareness have spread through the entertainment world following controversy over actor Ha-young's great-grandfather's pro-Japanese actions. Many have continued to support the achievement by Choi Tae-seong and Kwon Hyuk-soo, who appear on a program that leads efforts to improve historical awareness.
