The film 'Resurrected Man: The Red' is generating hot buzz even before its release with an unusual AI 'my own resurrection poster' event.
'Resurrected Man: The Red' (director: Baek, presented/distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by Yong Film, co-produced by Superfiction, YLAB, Studio Nungil Co.) is a film that tells the story of Seok-hwan (Koo Kyo-hwan), a job seeker whose only credential is baseless confidence, who, after learning that he can resurrect 72 hours after dying, is pursued under mysterious circumstances. With a fresh premise that he grows stronger the more he dies, a brisk pace, punchy action and the cast's playful chemistry, it is expected to deliver an unprecedented catharsis to audiences.
As 'Resurrected Man: The Red' rises this fall as a must-see at the box office thanks to the synergy of distinctive actors, it drew attention by running a unique event using posters featuring Seok-hwan's signature red-haired look.
'Resurrected Man: The Red' stirred attention with a poster of Koo Kyo-hwan as Seok-hwan: red hair, a face full of wounds, a bullet hole streaking past and calmly holding a candy in his mouth. A 'my own resurrection poster' creation event using Seok-hwan's visual was held, and prospective viewers' enthusiastic participation has continued.
The event uses AI prompts to transform a participant's photo into the film's depiction of Seok-hwan, after which they share it with the hashtag #resurrectionproof.
Previously, 'Resurrected Man: The Red' also held a verification shot event where people captured theater posters in cities nationwide such as Seoul, Daejeon, Busan and Gwangju. Following the theater poster capture event, which had 1,626 participants, the 'my own resurrection poster' event posted 930 comments within seven days of its release, recording a high participation rate and proving strong interest in the film even before its release. Prospective viewers who took part in the event expressed their impressions of creating their own Seok-hwan and their anticipation for the film.
Meanwhile, 'Resurrected Man: The Red' opens on Sept. 30.
