SEVENTEEN Jeonghan met Yano Shiho and showed off his exceptional Japanese skills.
On the 4th, a video titled "SEVENTEEN Jeonghan's recommended full-course Korea trip (ft. favorite regular restaurants)" was released on Yano Shiho's YouTube channel.
That day Yano Shiho met a special guide to tour the Cheongdam-dong and Apgujeong Rodeo areas of Seoul. The protagonist was SEVENTEEN Jeonghan. When Jeonghan appeared, Yano Shiho could not hide her delight, saying "I'm surprised you came to our YouTube," and upon seeing Jeonghan in person she exclaimed, "In person!"
The two were not meeting for the first time. Jeonghan recalled their past meeting, saying, "I saw you at MAMA in Yokohama nine years ago."
Before beginning the full Korea tour, the two sorted out how to address each other. Jeonghan asked Yano Shiho, "Should I call you nuna?" and explained that fans call him "Hanni-jjang." Yano Shiho then said, "Then let's go with 'Hanni-jjang.' It's cute," quickly deciding on the form of address and causing laughter.
What especially surprised Yano Shiho was Jeonghan's natural Japanese. Jeonghan said he had studied Japanese "a little for the fans." Hearing this, Yano Shiho also said shyly, "I studied Korean a little," and laughed embarrassedly. She went on to say, "I know I should, but it's not easy," sharing the difficulties of studying Korean.
Jeonghan learned Japanese himself to communicate more closely with fans, and Yano Shiho challenged herself to study Korean during her life in Korea. The two quickly bonded over the common ground of language study and raised expectations for their full Seoul tour.
