Girls' Generation member Kwon Yuri broke down in tears after leaving SM after 25 years.
On the 2nd, Yuri posted several photos on her social media saying, "I joined as a trainee in 2001, and 25 years have already passed. Thank you for raising, cherishing and loving me, Yuri."
She added, "We will be together again, so let's meet again with smiles. I love you, SM. Farewell." It was her final farewell as she left the agency after her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment expired and she moved to another agency. Having started as a trainee and debuted as a member of Girls' Generation, her more than 24 years together with SM showed a deep affection for the company.
The released photos showed Yuri saying goodbye to employees as she left SM. She had arranged snacks she prepared herself and was preparing final goodbyes, such as signing autographs. She smiled brightly but also posed as if sad and crying.
Yuri also showed a cheerful side, displaying a "resignation meme" that read "Thank you for raising me for 24 years. Be happy, everyone. I love you, SM."
In particular, Yuri tagged SM's social media account while saying "I loved you," and she also showed tears as she left the company. Yuri's tearful expression, as if regretful, conveyed her affection for the company.
SM Entertainment earlier said in an official statement on July 31, "After in-depth discussions with Kwon Yuri, the parties mutually agreed to conclude 19 years of their partnership as of Aug. 31," adding, "It was a precious time for SM to be part of the entire journey of Kwon Yuri, who debuted with Girls' Generation in 2007 and grew into a group representative of the era and shone as an actress."
Yuri appeared not only in Girls' Generation activities but also on stage as an actress in dramas, films and theater, and recently drew attention by forming Girls' Generation-Hyorisu with Hyoyeon and Sooyoung.
