'OK! Let's Get Divorced' Rhee Minjung confirmed the clear knife cut on Kim Ji-seok's clothes, remembered the truth of the past and wept.
On Aug. 2, episode 5 of OK! Let's Get Divorced (directed by Joo Seong-woo, written by Hwang Ji-eon), which aired on KBS Drama and GTV, depicted Baek Mi-young (Rhee Minjung) thrown into confusion after Ji Won-ho (Kim Ji-seok) suddenly began to refuse the divorce.
That day Baek Mi-young drew a firm line with Kelvin, who was visiting places full of memories and recalling their dating days. He, who said they were planning to divorce soon, cut in, "Regardless of my situation, I want to make it clear that we no longer can be together." It was a moment that revealed Baek Mi-young's determined will to completely sever ties with the past.
But after checking the prepared written response sent by Ji Won-ho's side, Baek Mi-young's heart began to waver. Ji Won-ho declared that he had "no intention of divorcing," saying he could not accept the divorce, alimony or property division. This was a strategy Ji Won-ho, who had mistaken Baek Mi-young and Kelvin's relationship as infidelity after seeing a photo of them embracing, devised with Bae Su-ji (played by Ahn Nae-sang).
After reading the response, Jeon Chi-hyun explained that Bae Su-ji was shaking Baek Mi-young's mentality and said, "She is holding out until Mi-young gets exhausted and drops out first." Jeon Chi-hyun, who had been hurt by a past loss to Bae Su-ji, vowed revenge, saying, "We can hit back even harder."
Declaring "divorce impossible," Ji Won-ho went so far as to return to the house he had shared with Baek Mi-young. Carrying out the plan called "sleeping with the enemy," Ji Won-ho went to his room without answering Baek Mi-young's question about whether he really would not divorce her. With Ji Won-ho's full-scale counterattack beginning, the conflict between the two deepened.
Using the excuse that she needed a friend, Ahn Hee-joo created an opportunity to meet Ji Won-ho. Moved by Ahn Hee-joo's tears as she said she had cut ties with her father, Ji Won-ho, whose heart softened, accepted her by saying, "From now on, do not cross the line beyond being friends." Later Ji Won-ho drank with Ahn Hee-joo, became heavily intoxicated and, supported by her, returned home.
Seeing this, Baek Mi-young exploded in anger, and Ji Won-ho continued to needle her afterward. Eventually the two argued outside in the cold wind and both caught colds. When Kelvin and Ahn Hee-joo heard the news that the two were ill and visited the house, an invisible psychological battle unfolded among the four, and the tense suspense greatly heightened the drama's interest.
Afterward, Baek Mi-young and Ji Won-ho each began full-scale divorce preparations with their respective lawyers, Jeon Chi-hyun and Bae Su-ji. However, the two ran on parallel tracks as they presented completely different claims about the past assault that became the decisive cause of the divorce.
Ji Won-ho argued point by point in his complaint that the bruises on Baek Mi-young's body were caused while he was preventing her from making an extreme choice. On the other hand, Baek Mi-young cried, saying Ji Won-ho had left her, who had collapsed on the floor, on the cold ground without doing anything to help.
Meanwhile, Baek Mi-young, who went to watch a friend's remind wedding shoot, encountered Reverend Kwon and showed hostility. She believed that in the past Ji Won-ho could not refuse Reverend Kwon's earnest request and therefore failed to stay by her side during her pregnancy.
But Reverend Kwon revealed a truth of the past that Baek Mi-young did not know. He said Ji Won-ho, rushing back to Baek Mi-young at the time, had a traffic accident because he was in a hurry, and on the day Baek Mi-young had armed herself with a knife and caused a disturbance, he tried to stop her and was even stabbed in the abdomen.
Having regained all her memories, Baek Mi-young lifted Ji Won-ho's clothes and checked the wounds on his body. Staring at the clearly visible knife cuts, Baek Mi-young finally burst into tears. Attention is focused on what choice Baek Mi-young, who confronted truths of the past she did not know, will make and what changes will come to the relationship surrounding the couple's divorce.
