Group i-dle (아이들) Soyeon (SOYEON) met viewers with a special performance ahead of her solo comeback.
Soyeon appeared on EBS1's 'Space Sympathy' broadcast on the 2nd and for the first time unveiled live performances of all tracks from her solo full-length debut album '끝내주는 인생', which will be released on the 7th.
In the program themed "Soyeon's 끝내주는 인생," Soyeon presented a rich setlist of 11 songs encompassing new songs and previous solo tracks with a band live performance.
Opening the stage with the title track of the full-length album '퇴사할게여 (Narr. Kian84)', Soyeon left a strong impression from the start with a theatrical performance that began like a musical, lying on the floor during the performance and moving into the audience seats, creating dynamic movements between the stage and the audience.
Regarding '퇴사할게여 (Narr. Kian84)', Soyeon explained, "I tried to write songs until a song that made me choke up came out. I wrote so many songs and if I hadn't done this title track, I don't think I would have released the album," adding, "I made '퇴사할게여 (Narr. Kian84)' and I felt like I was about to cry. It feels like a song that comforts me. It felt like it was telling me, 'Soyeon, you can do as you please. After all, we will all become grandmothers. Live protecting moments of romance and your happiness.'"
Soyeon raised the energy with 'Bankroll', which delivers a blunt message to a lover whose motive is money rather than love, and the album's only diss track 'I hate vegetables song'. She performed 'Amigo (Feat. Minsu)' with singer-songwriter Minsu and also presented performances of 'icebluerabbit', 'STAR', 'Can't we just love', and 'Sending romance'.
After finishing the performance, Soyeon said, "While making the album I looked back on my 29 years and remembered them all as good. There were bad moments, but if I had changed those moments I wouldn't be who I am now. So in summing up my life I thought of it as a '끝내주는 인생'," adding, "I think a solo album needs to contain my story to be appealing. This time I really did everything I wanted to do. I'm the type to be concerned about results, but after making this album I for the first time felt I wouldn't be hung up on the outcome. It's an album that satisfies me," revealing the meaning behind the full-length album '끝내주는 인생'.
