Announcer Park Jae-hong revealed that he collapsed from a cerebral infarction and is undergoing rehabilitation.
On the 1st, Park Jae-hong wrote on his social media, "I collapsed while exercising alone, running around the track of the Gyodae athletic field at around 11 p.m. on the 22nd."
Park Jae-hong said, "My family called 119 and I was taken to the emergency room an hour later, and after an MRI reading I was immediately diagnosed with a cerebral infarction. That night the medical staff's assessment was more serious than expected," and added, "For the next three to four hours I had my blood pressure, electrocardiogram and temperature checked while the medical staff asked questions to confirm my name, the date and the location. Watching other patients in the same ward, many of whom could not remember their own names or occupations, I silently prayed for their recovery, crying inside as I observed them."
Park Jae-hong said he has currently regained major functions such as speech and memory, explaining, "Thanks to the devoted care of the medical staff, my language ability, memory and left-right sensation have recovered 100%, and I am now in a rehabilitation treatment phase to recover motor function."
Posting this message coincidentally on his birthday, Park Jae-hong said, "From my hospital bed I resolve to live the second half of my life a little more humbly," and added, "For five years I have hosted 'Hanpanseungbu' and never once been away for more than a week, so I am sharing specific details to prevent unnecessary speculation about this unusual roughly 20-day long absence."
Park Jae-hong is aiming to return around Chuseok. He said, "I felt keenly this time how helpless life becomes when even a single tiny vein or blood vessel is blocked. I hope and look forward to seeing you soon on live broadcast."
