Actress Hwang Bo-ra complained about the extreme hardships of parenting.

That day on "Wonderful Woman," actress Hwang Bo-ra appeared as a guest and talked about parenting. When asked, "After getting married I really tried hard because I wanted to have a child. Because of infertility I had a child via in vitro fertilization, didn't I?" she said, "I'm still doing in vitro fertilization now. I'm planning for a second child. I met my husband at 29 and thought I shouldn't pass 40. We dated for 10 years and set the wedding date right at 40," she revealed.
She said, "I had never been to an obstetrics and gynecology clinic in my life. I wondered about my health because I wanted a child so badly, so I went to an obstetrics and gynecology clinic for the first time and they said 'extremely low ovarian reserve (AMH level below 0.5 ng/mL)'. When I asked what the chances of pregnancy were, they asked why I came only now and said the chance of successful pregnancy was 1 percent. What should I do? I thought this is terrible, but I became pregnant in two years. It was truly a miracle. Like winning the lottery," she said, recounting the episode of miraculously giving birth to her son Woo-in.
Hwang Bo-ra, who is again trying for a second pregnancy, said, "Actually I didn't want to. I had asked for just one. But I grew up as an only child with no brothers, and I was very lonely. It was just my mother and father, and since I was young I always thought, 'What if my parents die? I'm so scared,' so I actually wanted to marry early. I wanted to find a partner early and start a family, but that was delayed. I was so lonely that I gave birth to Woo-in at 42, and when I'm in my 60s he will be 20. 'Will I be able to see him get married?' I wondered. So I wanted to give him the best gift and am trying for a second child, but it's not going well," she said of the difficult situation.
In particular, when asked, "A 26-month-old son seems like he would have a lot of energy; isn't it hard?" Hwang Bo-ra sighed, "Why is he so unusual? At kids' cafes he's the one who stands out the most." She said, "Recently I took him to summer Bible school for the first time in his life. Didn't they do a musical? There were so many children, but only one of them wouldn't focus and kept wandering around. Why of all children did mine have to be the one going up on stage? I watched to see if he was following me. If he followed, he'd stop. Wherever we went, why was it only him? It's really hard," she said, describing how raising a hyperactive child is not easy.
When someone said, "While the other children didn't watch the musical, only Mr. Da-bo's child watched," Hwang Bo-ra bowed her head and said, "I was so embarrassed." Regarding preparations for a second child, she said, "I started preparing at the beginning of this year. We did something in December last year and one embryo is frozen now. One is secured for safety and the doctor said to prepare one more safely, so I've been trying continuously, but the attempts keep being extended beyond when I thought I'd try until early next year," adding, "If I do it next year I'll be 45. I'm going to die from parenting," showing her lack of confidence. When asked, "How long can you wait?" she said, "Going to the hospital isn't an ordinary matter either. I'll try until early next year."
Meanwhile, Hwang Bo-ra married actor and film producer Cha Hyun-woo (Kim Young-hoon), who is the son of actor Kim Yong-gun and the brother of Ha Jung-woo, in 2022 and gave birth to son Woo-in in 2024.<
