Singer and actor Uhm Jung-hwa spent a romantic time in southern Italy. Behind the relaxed scenes of clinking wine glasses with locals on a yacht was a special project she had been preparing for a long time.
On the 1st, a video titled "What more needs to be said... the best destination of my life" was released on the YouTube channel 'Umaizing Uhm Jung-hwaTV'. The video captured Uhm Jung-hwa's journey through southern Italy experiencing wine, food and local culture.
In the video, Uhm Jung-hwa enjoyed a yacht tour against the dazzling Taranto sea, and naturally mingled with locals, clinking wine glasses and savoring the romance of the resort. Her appearance under the warm sun evoked a scene from a movie.
But the real purpose of this trip to Italy was different. Uhm Jung-hwa visited the area to create a collaborative wine bearing her name, "Umaizing (UMAIZING)", a project she had cherished and prepared for a long time. She said, "This is where the San Marzano winery is located, and I came because I wanted to make wine here," noting that through a good opportunity a collaboration with a local winery was achieved and an actual wine would be produced.
Introducing this trip, Uhm Jung-hwa described it as "a very special story I have been preparing deep in my heart for a long time," conveying its special meaning. She revealed moments in order, from the first meeting with people from the San Marzano winery to a cooking class with a local chef, and the birth of the wine alongside the Taranto sea and the masseria garden.
She said she was deeply moved watching how the southern Italian sunlight, wind and the sincerity of people met and completed into a single wine. It added meaning that this was not merely a product bearing her name but a project completed by visiting the place, meeting people and gaining experience firsthand.
The inspiration from the trip carried into her daily life. After touring local architecture and gardens, Uhm Jung-hwa said she wanted to paint her garden walls white when she returned home, showing she was utterly taken with Puglia's distinctive atmosphere.
Uhm Jung-hwa said she hopes this video becomes "a graceful rest in a corner of the heart" for fans, and previewed that she will continue to reveal the making story of "Umaizing" in the next episode. Her new challenge — not just enjoying the romance of her Italy trip but realizing a long-held dream as a wine bearing her name — draws attention.<
