Singer Jo Kwon said goodbye to a companion dog he had been with for 14 years.
On the 2nd, Jo Kwon posted several photos and a long message on his social media, saying, "Haru achim-e hangahaejin naui Haru, nun tteujamaja achim in-sa-reul hago neoreul wihae paedeu-reul galgo achimyak junbi-buteo babkkaji bunju-hadeon neoreul wihaen naui achim-eun sarajyeotguna."
Jo Kwon continued, "On a day when the hot summer seemed to step aside and it rained heavily, Gaga left for the dog star at 5:26 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2026. It seems it wasn't urgent for Gaga. She even watched over my birthday, went for a walk until the day before and was in my arms, but in the end I couldn't tell her I love her as my last words," announcing that the companion dog, which had earlier been diagnosed with bladder cancer and was receiving surgery and chemotherapy, had passed away.
About his companion dog Gaga, Jo Kwon said, "The world's dutiful daughter, never caused trouble, never once fought with other dogs, kind-hearted Gaga. So pretty and beautiful that people once turned back to look at her elegant, quick steps, and perhaps because she left loved by those around her, she is now peaceful like Sleeping Beauty."
At the same time, Jo Kwon expressed longing, saying, "But my heart is endlessly empty, longing and yearning," and confessed his feelings, "With her tiny body she endured a long illness without showing pain and eventually went like an angel. The 14 years of time that waited for and watched over me was entirely about me, so even if I think I did everything without regret, I still feel sorry and miss her, it seems impossible to help it."
Jo Kwon had earlier said last month, "Painfully, a month ago Gaga's cancer spread to her bladder, making further surgery difficult. Even if she cannot get better, we are doing our best to prevent further deterioration."
Below is Jo Kwon's full statement.
Haru achim-e hangahaejin naui Haru, nun tteujamaja achim in-sa-reul hago, neoreul wihae paedeu-reul galgo, achimyak junbi buteo babkkaji bunju-hage junbihadeon neoreul wihaen naui achim-eun sarajyeotguna.
As if the hot summer had politely stepped aside and it rained heavily,
Gaga left for the dog star at 5:26 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2026..
It seems it wasn't urgent for Gaga; she even watched over my birthday, went for a walk until the day before and was in my arms, but in the end I couldn't tell her I love her as my last words.
The world's dutiful daughter, never caused trouble, never once fought with other dogs, kind-hearted Gaga.
So pretty and beautiful that people once turned back to look at Gaga as she walked elegantly and briskly,
and perhaps because she left having received abundant love from those around her, she is now peaceful like Sleeping Beauty.
But my heart is endlessly empty, longing and yearning.
Gaga for the first time had an accident on the blanket over the weekend.
It felt like she had returned to being a baby 14 years ago.
After that she never climbed onto the washed blanket once, and thinking back it seems it was because she felt sorry for me; I thought I should carry her with a sling, but she left earlier so I would suffer less..
People she wanted to see came even to her dreams to say hello, and did that greeting mean they were asking me to take good care of her?
With her tiny body she endured a long illness without showing pain and went like an angel.
The 14 years of time that endlessly waited for and watched over me was entirely about me, so no matter how much I think I did well without regret, I still feel sorry and miss her, it seems unavoidable..
I want to tell my kindest, most beautiful, big-eyed lady Gaga, who was my number one audience, that I love her.
I should have hugged you more, Gaga! Don't let Biber get depressed! Gaga, you have to protect Biber!
