HYBE-Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE is sustaining strong global momentum by holding a top-10 position for a second consecutive week on the U.S. Billboard main album chart with their new release 'WILD'.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 1st (Sept. 5 chart), KATSEYE's third EP 'WILD' rose to No. 6 on the Billboard 200. After debuting at No. 1 on that chart last week, it maintained a top-10 position in its second week, demonstrating overwhelming presence.
The steady popularity of previous albums also draws attention. The second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' was at No. 135 on the Billboard 200, marking its 61st week on the chart, and the first EP 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' was at No. 185, marking its 25th week. With this, KATSEYE showed the strength to place all three albums it has released so far on the same weekly Billboard 200.
On the Top Album Sales chart, which combines physical album and digital album sales, 'WILD' rose to No. 3, holding a top position for two consecutive weeks. 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' and 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' also ranked No. 22 and No. 25 respectively, proving KATSEYE's solid popularity across their albums.
Two songs also charted simultaneously on the main song chart Hot 100. 'Animal', the pre-release track from 'WILD', sat at No. 30, marking its fifth consecutive week on the chart, while the title track 'Hootie Frutti' recorded No. 49 this week after being No. 31 last week, entering the Hot 100 for a second week.
Strength continued on the Global 200, which aggregates streaming and sales across more than 200 territories worldwide. 'Animal' was No. 19 and 'Hootie Frutti' was No. 30, while the hit song 'Gabriela', released in June last year, rose to No. 167. The special collaboration track 'ICONIC BY MISTAKE', featuring LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT and KATSEYE, also ranked No. 127.
An upward trend was also detected on radio charts. 'Animal' rose one spot to No. 21 on Pop Airplay from the previous week, setting a new personal best. This shows that KATSEYE's music is being widely consumed in the United States, building solid public recognition.
KATSEYE is a global girl group that debuted in the United States in 2024 based on HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk's "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy and the "K-pop methodology."
Having achieved consecutive results on major Billboard charts with 'WILD', KATSEYE is expanding its global presence, and interest centers on how far the momentum for this new release will continue.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE opens the 'THE WILDWORLD TOUR' today (Korea time) in Dublin, Ireland. They will tour major cities in Europe and North America to meet global fans.
