Heavenly, a BL platform powerhouse, is aiming at the global market in the second half of the year with its new original drama 'Boy, caution,' which depicts a dangerous and seductive priest-student romance.
'Boy, caution' is a romance drama that traces the perilous emotional arc as substitute teacher Jang Gi-woo, who lives with wounds, and 21-year-old repeating student Lee Hyun-jae, whom everyone avoids, meet at school, learn about each other's scars and gradually become drawn to one another. It will delicately portray the precarious attraction that blossoms on the fatal boundary between teacher and student.
The casting lineup is eye-catching from the start. Ryu Se-il, a "serious actor" who won the young theater award in the theater category at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards in 2025, has been chosen for the role of temporary teacher Jang Gi-woo, who lives having lost his dream due to past wounds. Based on his overwhelming stage-honed skills, he is expected to portray the inner fractures in three dimensions.
Newcomer Ha Jung-hoon was dramatically selected to play opposite Ryu Se-il. Ha Jung-hoon, cast as troublemaker repeating student Lee Hyun-jae of Nakwon High School, is making his first drama challenge but is expected to leave a strong impression by projecting intense energy entangled with deprivation and obsession.
Production company Nakwon Mansion and director Lee Son-eum, who proved their excellent directing with the BL hit "Gray Current," have reunited. With tight emotional lines and mise-en-scène, they are expected to complete another "well-made cruel aftertaste."
Heavenly said, "We delicately captured the dangerous emotions and attraction that bloom within the teacher-student relationship," adding, "It will deliver a level of tension and immersion different from existing BLs," expressing strong confidence.
After opening the box office with its first original IP "The peach blossoms have bloomed," Heavenly has drawn attention inside and outside the broadcasting world over whether it can hit a consecutive hit with this new work. It will be released exclusively worldwide through Heavenly on the 30th.
