A Seoul National University student who created an app that shows shade during heat waves meets Yu Jae-seok.
The Aug. 2 broadcast of tvN You Quiz on the Block will be presented as a "no one asked me to, but" special, featuring Seoul National University student Yu Min-jun, No Brain, Ha Jiwon and Im Chae-moo.
This summer, filled with heat waves that approached 40 degrees, 24-year-old Seoul National University student Yu Min-jun, who made an app that shows shade, met Yu Jae-seok. After just leaving the military and before returning to school, Yu Min-jun revealed how he came up with the idea for the "Geuneullo" app on his commute and how he completed the app in just two weeks using AI. About 90,000 people used the free app "Geuneullo," drawing attention, and he will also recount how he even received contact from the Seoul city government.
Yu Min-jun's unusual aptitude for coding from a young age also draws attention. He will recount from childhood, when taking apart computers sparked his interest in coding, to starting to make apps himself as a middle schooler, adding to the surprise. He will reveal a variety of apps he made himself, such as a rock identification app and an app that wakes you up when you're drowsy, as well as ingenious ideas that keep coming, including a catnap map app, a delivery app lock, and a device to prevent infant abuse. The broadcast will showcase Yu Min-jun's distinctive viewpoint of implementing social safety through technology.
No Brain, the first-generation punk rock group celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, will also meet Yu Jae-seok and share stories. Lee Sung-woo and Hwang Hyun-sung will express their delight at reuniting with Yu Jae-seok for the first time in 17 years since the "MuDo song festival," and they will unfold various behind-the-scenes stories leading up to their 30th anniversary. In particular, BTS RM recently mentioned No Brain in a foreign interview and sent a love call saying, "Shall we do some art?" drawing attention.
The broadcast will also reveal behind-the-scenes stories from the two members' rebellious days when they were intoxicated by punk rock to the formation of No Brain. Lee Sung-woo will share anecdotes such as leaving the exam room during the second period of the college entrance exam using a trick and wandering between members' homes as a guest vocalist for Crying Nut, and Hwang Hyun-sung will also reveal exciting stories about his younger high school junior Ro Hong-chul.
