Actor Lee Mu-saeng appears in the film "Modup," making his first venture into the occult genre and delivering a heartrending paternal love.
"Modup" is an occult mystery film set on a remote island abandoned since the 1960s, depicting the intertwined stories of people like an unresolved modup (knot). Actors Yoo Hai Jin, Yim Siwan, Kim So Hyun and Lee Mu-saeng appear in the film.
Lee Mu-saeng plays the role of the father "Gutaek," who struggles to save his daughter "Seonok" (Kim So Hyun). Gutaek is a character who, desperate to save his daughter suffering from bizarre symptoms of unknown cause, pursues a last hope by seeking out the remote island and becomes the starting point of all the events.
Through "Modup," Lee Mu-saeng challenges the occult genre for the first time and portrays a father's desperate and urgent appearance as a profound paternal love. Based on his distinctive ability to handle genres, he is expected to raise the tension of the drama and exude a weighty presence.
"Modup" will begin full-scale filming on the 4th (Fri).
Lee Mu-saeng has shown a variety of faces across television and film, including the dramas "The World of the Married," "Thirty-Nine," "Cleaning Up," "The Glory," "Maestra: Strings of Truth," "HIDE," "Blood Free," and "Gyeongseong Creature" as well as the films "Noryang: Deadly Sea," "Citizen Deok-hee," and "The Architect." He will once again take on a new acting transformation as Yoo Philip, a Gyeongseong correspondent for an American news organization and a member of the Gukgukdan, in the tvN new weekend drama "100Days Of Lies," which premieres on Oct. 10.
