The group Cortis wrote the longest charting record for a boy group following predecessor BTS.
BigHit Music, the agency, said on the 1st, "Cortis's mini album 2 'Greengreen (GREENGREEN)' title track 'Redred (REDRED)' ranked No. 3 on Melon's comprehensive monthly chart for August, which was released that day. Thus, 'Redred' began at No. 3 in May, rose to No. 2 in June, was No. 3 in July, and remained in the top three on that chart for four months through last month," the agency said.
Melon's monthly chart ranks songs by aggregating streaming and download usage over a month, and Cortis has continued long-term success by maintaining a top position for four months.
In particular, 'Redred' proved its overwhelming presence again by recording the highest rank (No. 2) among K-pop boy groups across last year and this year on that chart. This is the longest run in the top three since BTS's "Dynamite" in 2020.
'Redred' is like the starting point of a journey in which Cortis explores its own tastes and direction, breaking away from the world's standards and rules, and it discusses what the team aims for and where it draws the line using 'green' and 'red' as motifs.
