Comedian Kim Sook breathed a sigh of relief in Jeju.
On Aug. 31, a video titled "Late-summer flavor! A cozy date with samchun and even a lying-down stream" was posted on the YouTube channel Kim Sook TV.
That day Kim Sook spent time with "samchun," whom she met and befriended in Jeju. Samchun said his grandson is majoring in acting and aspires to be an actor, "My grandson graduated from an acting school but he can't become a TV actor and only practices theater," he confessed.
To that Kim Sook replied, "Don't worry. He might make it that way." Samchun asked, "He's 32 years old — when will he succeed?" and Kim Sook comforted him, "I don't know when he'll make it. Acting often takes a long time."
Samchun said, "I'm worried because he can't get married and is alone," and Kim Sook joked, "Everyone here couldn't get married. It's not that I don't want to; I just can't," drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, Samchun surprised Kim Sook by saying, while talking about his grandson's height, "My dead grandson is over 180 centimeters tall." This was a misunderstanding by Kim Sook due to Jeju dialect.
Kim Sook joked, "You keep talking about dead grandsons, so my heart aches," then added, "All the grandsons are alive, right? That's a relief. They're all alive. I almost couldn't sleep."
