Actor Ryu Hyeyoung captivated attention with a half-faced look and an even slimmer, more delicate figure, and his past candid remarks about the circulating "bony" diet suspicions have come back into focus.
Ryu Hyeyoung attended a showcase event for the film "Assassin(s)" held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 31st. "Assassin(s)," set to be released this Chuseok, is a work that traces the suspicions and backers of the first lady shooting incident that shocked Korea on Aug. 15, 1974.
That day, wearing a tube-top outfit on stage, Ryu Hyeyoung revealed a sleek shoulder line, square shoulders and a slim body line, drawing all eyes on the scene. In particular, amid the "bony" craze spreading throughout the entertainment industry, some speculated that Ryu Hyeyoung had also undergone rapid dieting.
However, Ryu Hyeyoung has already directly clarified such diet- and weight-related conjecture through her personal channel.
In a personal YouTube video released in July, Ryu Hyeyoung lamented the malicious comments, saying, "Comments like 'Why did you lose so much weight' and 'Why are you so skinny' appear." At the same time, she expressed a firm belief, saying, "But if I gain weight they say I gained weight. So I'll just live as I please."
In particular, Ryu Hyeyoung surprised viewers by saying, "I have never dieted even once since I was 25, and in fact I have never lost weight." She said, "As I got older, the baby fat on my cheeks and body naturally disappeared," and emphasized that it was the result of healthy management, saying, "I just worked hard on posture-correcting exercises after changing my trainer, and my weight has always fluctuated only within 1 to 2 kg and has not changed."
Unswayed by conjecture and continuing her own healthy lifestyle while focusing on her main work, expectations are rising for what powerful acting Ryu Hyeyoung will show in the new film "Assassin(s)".
