Los Angeles (LA) abruptly declared "BTS Week" and launched a grand welcome for the global group BTS.
BTS will hold BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN LOS ANGELES at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sept. 1 and 2 and Sept. 5 and 6 (local time). To commemorate this, the city of Los Angeles has designated Sept. 1 through Sept. 8 as "BTS Week" and launched an enthusiastic official welcome, lighting city hall in red, the symbolic color of their fifth studio album ARIRANG.
At the declaration ceremony held at Los Angeles City Hall on Aug. 31, city council members, the tourism board and HYBE officials attended. Karen Bass, mayor of LA, said the proclamation of "BTS Week" reflects a belief that art and culture have the power to connect communities. She expressed deep affection, saying she was proud to honor BTS's achievements, which have made a major contribution to world culture.
The Los Angeles City Council also lauded BTS in a resolution, calling them the most influential artists representing their generation and pioneers who opened the way for Korean and Asian artists in the global music industry. The council sincerely highlighted the hopeful and self-love messages BTS conveyed through activities beyond music, such as the "LOVE MYSELF" campaign and their U.N. speech, and their positive influence in promoting Korean culture.
This performance marks BTS's return to SoFi Stadium after about 4 years and 9 months since Dec. 2021 and will cap their North American tour. With the fourth show already sold out, proving the undiminished "BTS power," the entire city of LA is ready to welcome BTS with waves of red.
