Group Oh My Girl member Mimi said she suffered because of her debut concept.
On Aug. 29, a video titled 'Mimi who loved bread so much she only ate bread and left, and let's eat bread' was posted on the YouTube channel 'Kkondaehui'.
That day Mimi said, "I think I was happier as a trainee than after debut," surprising listeners. She said, "As a trainee I preferred hip-hop style. But we debuted with 'CUPID'"
She added, "When I first heard the debut song it had a girl-crush feel. I liked that it reminded me of senior group After School, but when I heard the lyrics and received the choreography, (it was different from what I expected)."
Later, on the music video set the camera director pointed out, "This is too much now. You have to look pretty on camera. You have to come across fresh."
Mimi confessed she was confused because she could not express herself freely, saying, "They tell me I'm pretty now, but I wasn't pretty. I'm not particularly a pretty-faced person."
Meanwhile, Mimi recently released her first single in 11 years, 'Bish Bash Bosh' and has fully demonstrated her value as a solo artist by producing the entire track and participating in writing and composing.
