Singer Sunmi canceled a fan meeting in Shanghai, China, four days before the event.
Agency Abyss Company said on the 1st, via its official social media, that after discussions with the local organizer it decided to cancel the Shanghai fan meeting that had been scheduled for the 5th.
The agency explained the reason for the cancellation, saying it judged that it was important to present a performance at the originally promised level in an environment where both the artist and fans could feel safe and enjoy themselves.
Sunmi had been set to meet local fans on the 5th at NEOVANA in Shanghai with "Meet SUNMI in Late Summer."
Apologizing for the sudden cancellation, the agency said it would arrange a new opportunity so Sunmi can meet Shanghai fans again at a better-prepared event.
Existing tickets will be fully refunded through the local organizer and the official ticketing site.
