The band UINONE (UINONE, Kim Wooji, Kim Jaeil, Seo Taeyang, Cho Jaemin) signed an exclusive contract with tapes, a label under Mound Media.
Tapes said, "We have signed an exclusive contract with the band UINONE and will embark on a new beginning together," and added, "We will actively support UINONE so they can more broadly showcase their musical colors and strengths as a live band."
UINONE is a band that has expanded not only music but also narrative, imagery and live performance into a single artistic world based on rock. Through the full-length album "Herman" and the EP "SAMSARA," they have consistently infused the themes of a post-apocalyptic world and cycles into visuals and performances as well as music, building a distinctive artistic color.
Having steadily built solid live experience by performing at club shows and major domestic festivals, UINONE has effectively conveyed their musical world by adding the narratives of each album to an intense band sound. In particular, they were named a nominee in the best rock song category at the 2026 Korean Popular Music Awards, earning recognition for their musicality and artistic value.
UINONE's unusual formation process also draws attention. The members first met through a used-instruments and audio-equipment trading community and continued their connection as a band. United by a special encounter, they began with the 2024 single "Mahaom" and released "Seoul," the full-length album "Herman," the single "Sara (Single ver.)," and the EP "Samsara," steadily completing their own musical identity.
They also delivered intense live sound by performing on major domestic festival stages such as the 2025 Busan International Rock Festival and Beautiful Mint Life 2026. Through various stages they have introduced their music to a broader audience and steadily expanded their standing as a live band.
After signing the exclusive contract with tapes, they revealed their first move under the new label. UINONE offered a live clip filmed against the backdrop of the actual label office via their official social media. They announced the new start by capturing UINONE's vivid and intense band sound in the ordinary space of an office.
Having found a new home, UINONE plans to follow this with diverse musical activities such as album releases and live performances. Expectations are growing for what new sides UINONE, who have steadily expanded their musical world, will show together with tapes.
Tapes, a label under Mound Media that includes Ghost Bookstore, is a collective of creators including bands, singer-songwriters and visual artists. Under the motto "different content leaves each person's trace," it leads experimental content and artistic expansion for a new generation centered on music, performances and exhibitions.
Current affiliated artists include the singer-songwriters Gureum, Kim Seungju, Kwon Sojung, the band Crispy, Ghost Bookstore, the writer Angwoo, and Jisuyeon.
