Los Angeles designated the first week of September as "BTS Week" to mark BTS's world tour.
According to Big Hit Music on the 1st, the city of Los Angeles set Sept. 1-8 (local time) as "BTS Week" and held an official proclamation ceremony at city hall on the 31st of the previous month.
Los Angeles City Hall will be lit in red, the symbolic color of BTS's fifth studio album "Arirang," that day. It means the city welcomes fans visiting for the concerts.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said it was meaningful to honor BTS's contributions to global culture and to celebrate the group's special ties with Los Angeles with fans around the world.
BTS will perform four times on Sept. 1-2 and 5-6 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. All seats for every show are sold out. This is the group's first solo concert at the venue since Dec. 2021, after four years and nine months.
The Los Angeles City Council called BTS "one of the most influential artists representing the current generation" and said the group contributed to the global expansion of Korean and Asian artists and the spread of Korean culture.
Previously, El Paso County, Texas, Illinois, and Toronto, Canada, also designated "BTS Week" or "BTS Day" to commemorate BTS's "Arirang" tour.
