Actor Ha Jiwon visited the YouTube channel 'Sung Si Kyung's 만나텐데' for the second time and revealed behind-the-scenes of her screen comeback after six years, Portrait of a Family.
The episode of 'Sung Si Kyung's 만나텐데' released on the 31st of last month featured Ha Jiwon and Kim Sunyoung appearing together, enjoying a pleasant meal and lively talk at Sung Si Kyung's home. With aged premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo, and the '독주' that perfectly matched Kim Sunyoung's taste prepared, Ha Jiwon explained about the role she played in 'Portrait of a Family', saying, "I played Nammi, who went from a top star to a working actor," and "It was a character that made me want to take on the challenge because as an actor I could express new emotions and appearances."
In particular, Ha Jiwon also revealed the story of trying bleaching for the first time in her life and learning to smoke for the character. She said, "I bleached my hair for the first time and also learned to smoke," and "The director gave me a large shopping bag with different kinds of cigarettes as a gift and showed consideration by letting me choose the product that made me feel comfortable," drawing attention.
High praise for Kim Sunyoung continued. Ha Jiwon said, "She is so good at acting that I had faith in her as an actor, and she delivered an exciting performance in this work as expected," and added, "Seeing with my own eyes that 'she can act so flexibly in this situation' made me both envious and eager to learn. I was so happy when we acted together," expressing special trust.
Sung Si Kyung mentioned the YouTube entertainment show that Ha Jiwon is appearing on, I'm Class of 26 Jiwon, and a discussion about intergenerational communication followed. Ha Jiwon said, "I've long wanted to try communicating with generations different from mine, and the perfect proposal came along so I thought, 'this is it.'"
She continued, "The students played well with me," expressing gratitude, and Ha Jiwon said with a laugh, "Kim Sia, who plays the daughter in Portrait of a Family, is actually class of 26, and since doing I'm Class of 26 Jiwon, I'm the only one who can have a conversation with Kim Sia."
A sudden battle over the truth also broke out amid the cheerful atmosphere. When Kim Sunyoung said, "I didn't have your phone number so I contacted you via your KakaoTalk profile," Ha Jiwon rebutted, "We exchanged contact information and actually communicated," and the two immediately engaged in a 'drinking-forfeit' challenge.
As it turned out that Ha Jiwon's statement was true, she won the bet, and Kim Sunyoung took a one-shot of 51-degree soju and accepted the result. That was not the end. The scene was filled with laughter as the second truth battle followed, with Ha Jiwon saying, "I received a text message promoting the performance from Kim Sunyoung," and Kim Sunyoung saying, "I did not send a promotional text message."
After a warm and friendly meal, Ha Jiwon also expressed her affection for the film Portrait of a Family. She introduced it as, "a deep family story that brings to mind the words love, pain and forgiveness," and said, "I think it will come across to audiences as an attractive work that leaves a lasting impression," asking for interest and viewership.
