Singer Sunmi canceled her fan meeting in Shanghai, China.
Her agency, Abyss Company, announced on the 1st through official channels, "After conducting a final check of local operations and related preparations ahead of the event, we determined that with the current level of readiness it would be difficult to sufficiently guarantee the stable event operation and a high-quality fan meeting experience that we consider important," and announced the cancellation of the fan meeting.
It continued, "Above all, we judged that it is important for the artist and fans to be able to enjoy the event in a safe environment and for the performance to meet the level we promised, and after consultation with the local organizer we were forced to cancel this Shanghai fan meeting," adding, "We sincerely apologize and feel sorry to deliver the sudden news of the cancellation to the fans who waited for and supported this fan meeting."
It added, "Sunmi, too, who was looking forward to meeting fans in Shanghai in a long time and prepared this fan meeting, feels very regretful that the scheduled meeting cannot take place," and said, "Purchased tickets will be fully refunded through the local organizer and each official ticketing outlet."
Sunmi previously released the single "Forever July" on July 15 and was actively promoting it.

We are issuing guidance regarding the 2026 SUNMI Shanghai fan meeting meet in late summer scheduled to be held on Sat., Sept. 5.
We have been in continuous communication with the local organizer to create a fan meeting where Sunmi and Shanghai fans can make good memories together, confirming and consulting on matters needed for overall event operation and production.
However, after conducting a final check of local operations and related preparations ahead of the event, we determined that with the current level of readiness it would be difficult to sufficiently guarantee the stable event operation and a high-quality fan meeting experience that we consider important.
